I thought Lignier's Chambolle-Musigny-Les Baudes to be exceptional. The huge fragrance of anise, herbs, black fruits, and smoky new oak is captivating. Dense and concentrated, yet remarkably elegant and well-delineated, this rich, medium-bodied wine possesses superb concentration, adequate acidity, and a long, flowing, graceful finish. Drink it over the next decade. Lamentably, only 15 cases were allocated to the American market.
Hubert Lignier continues to confirm the fact that he is among Burgundy's masters when crafting natural, complex, seductive Pinot Noir.
