Tasted twice, once out of barrel and then shortly after bottling, the ruby-colored 1997 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes was remarkably consistent. Aromatically, it reveals raspberries and pungent roses. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is soft, lush, velvety-textured, and intensely flavored. Its harmonious core of fruit exhibits candied blackberry flavors intermingled with rosemary and hoisin. Projected maturity: now-2006. Importer: Neal Rosenthal Wine Merchant, New York, NY; tel (800) 910-1990.
