A very good value from Tuscany is Farnetella's 1997 Chianti Colli Senesi (6,000 cases produced from 100% Sangiovese). The Volnay of Sangiovese (in reference to the Burgundy village), it is an elegant, dark ruby-colored wine offering up pure notes of sweet black cherries intermixed with flowers and minerals.
