While I was not a fan of the firm, raw 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla is impressive. Blackberries intermingled with eggplant, tomatoes, and roasted black fruits are found in this hugely concentrated wine’s aromatics. A firm, tannic, extracted effort, it sports a medium-bodied, black fruit-packed personality that yearns for a grilled steak. Projected maturity: now-2012.
