Beaurenard's 1995s possess more color, aromatics, flavor texture, and aging potential than the 1996s. The dense ruby/purple-colored 1995 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up a sweet nose of blackberries, cranberries, and cherries. The wine possesses beautiful pure fruit, medium to full body, a sweet, glycerin-imbued mid-palate, and a lusty, heady, richly-textured, silky finish. It is a classic Chateauneuf du Pape that can be drunk young, or cellared for a decade. This 75-acre estate continues to be one of the leaders in Chateauneuf du Pape, offering both a cuvee classique and a luxury cuvee, the latter revealing evidence of exposure to new oak casks. There is also a round, generous Cotes du Rhone produced as well as a rustic Rasteau Cotes du Rhone-Villages.
