The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa was largely made from purchased fruit. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by intense aromas of creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur and acacia flowers. Whatever oak it initially possessed has been absorbed magnificently. Fleshy, precise and well-delineated, this is a beautiful wine of harmony, complexity and full-bodied authority. Drink it over the next decade. Keenan does not make a lot of Cabernet Franc from the Spring Mountain appellation, but what has been produced has been a consistent winner. Tel. The knock-out 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon tastes like pure creme de cassis. Beautiful purity of fruit, a deep ruby/purple color, a restrained use of oak, and a stunning finish with moderately high tannin make for an impressive Cabernet Sauvignon that should hit its prime in 2-3 years and last for 12-15. This beautiful winery, located in Spring Mountain in the Mayacamas Range, seems to be making the best wine of its 25-year history, and much of the credit must go to the tireless efforts of Michael Keenan who has done so much to resurrect the fortunes of this winery.Tel.
