Bright full ruby. Strong oak tones to the aromas of black raspberry, blueberry, plum, exotic spices and graphite minerality. Plush, pliant and sweet; more open-knit than the 2012 but then this is two years older. A bit more exotic, figgy and liqueur-like, finishing with big, ripe, palate-saturating tannins and excellent dark berry persistence. I find the tannins of the 2012 Grand Vin to be more refined, even if the wine is younger.
