The medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Vougeot Les Cras may be the finest Vougeot tasted to date. It has an immensely appealing, deep nose of blackberries, spices, and currants. On the palate, this outstanding wine regales the taster with candied plums, sweet cherries, and notes of pomegranate.
