The 2007 Osmin is a blend of 35% Garnacha, 30% Carinena balanced by Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot aged in new French oak barrels. It is very aromatic and fragrant, with a developed bouquet mixing Mediterranean herbs, ripe cherries, spices and peat aromas. The palate has some grainy tannins and feels a little heavier than the 2007 Ardiles with a slightly drying finish that makes you wonder if the fruit will overcome the oak. It is a good Priorat to enjoy with powerful dishes, though. Drink now-2017.
Merum Priorati is owned by Pere Ventura from Penedes. I found the wines quite reliable and ready to drink.
No known American importer.
