The blockbuster, full-bodied, saturated purple-hued 2001 Petite Sirah Thomann Station offers a glorious perfume of violets, blackberries, cassis, and graphite. Rich, deep, and multilayered, yet neither over the top nor heavy, with unexpectedly sweet tannin, this beauty is still rather primary. Another 5-7 years of cellaring will be beneficial. It will keep for 15 or more years. Robert Biale has quickly become one of the finest practitioners of California Zinfandel, so it is good to see they also produce superb Petite Sirah. Tel.
