The 2008 Fiano di Avellino is one of the more full-bodied whites in this line up. Cured meats, ash and earthiness meld into ripe peaches as this generous wine opens up in the glass. Here, too, there is plenty of complexity and sheer personality that comes through. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
This is an impressive set of entry-level wines from Mastroberardino, an estate that in recent years has begun to recapture some of its past glory.
