The 2010 Barbaresco Serraboella is intensely perfumed with rose and dark berry fruit. Although the wine’s appearance is heavy, dark and not totally transparent, the bouquet is buoyant, immediate and uplifting. The quality of the vintage shines through in the glass. The style here prizes roundness and fullness, yet those firm Nebbiolo tannins keep everything in place. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020.
Fontanabianca was born in 1969, when two prominent farmers in Neive, Franco Pola and Ottavio Ferro, joined forces. Their respective sons, Aldo and Bruno, now manage the estate. They own 14 hectares in the Neive township of Barbaresco.
