A 360-case blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 20% Mourvedre, the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Rising Tides offers a big nose of blackberries, black raspberries, camphor, truffles, and flowers. Terrific fruit, full body, an unctuous texture, and good tannic structure in the finish suggest it will benefit from another 1-2 years of cellaring, and should drink well over the following 10-12 years. Readers should not forget the Linne Calodo Zinfandel-dominated wines recommended in issue #164, the 2004 Cherry Red ($48; 95 points), 2004 Leona’s ($42; 91+ points), and 2004 Problem Child ($42; 92 points).Tel.
