An excellent value from the village of Cussac Fort Medoc, this blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and the rest small quantities of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot displays sweet black currants, a whiff of cedar wood and roasted herbs in a medium-bodied, lush, very drinkable and enticing style. Drink it over the next 5-10 years. (A member of the Association of Crus Bourgeois du Medoc.)

Juicy and nicely compact, with a core of fig, cassis and blackberry fruit that still needs to stretch out, framed nicely by charcoal and roasted herb notes on the well-structured finish. Best from 2013 through 2019. 9,400 cases made. -JM

Perfumed aromas of violet, rose, ripe red and black fruit, cinnamon, earth and leather. Lots of extraction and good depth. Opulent development. Drink 2013. Alc: 13.5%. (15.63 points)

Young, deeply-coloured with red highlights. Ultra ripe nose with accents of almost jammy red fruits. On the palate, melted and supple, even though the oak tannins are more upfront on the finish. Fairly traditional.
