The medium-to-dark ruby-colored Chambolle-Musigny offers a refined, feminine nose of roses and red fruits whose flavors are intermingled with notes of coffee, cassis and blueberries. It has a gorgeously balanced, silky-textured, opulent and medium-to-full-bodied flavor profile. I wish all of Burgundy's village wines were this delicious! Drink now-2004.
Christian Amiot has been responsible for this estate's wines since 1990 and the quality of his wines has progressed admirably with each vintage. As Robert Parker stated in issue # 100 (August, 1995), the wines of the Domaine Amiot-Servelle "go from strength to strength." I was quite taken by the opulent yet structured nature of the graceful, juicy, beautifully ripe and extracted wines reviewed in this segment. Amiot is a star in the making.
