The Burton’s Vineyard cuvee is a blend of equal parts Grenache and Shiraz from a vineyard planted in 1947 and 1963. The dense, full-bodied 2002 Burton’s Vineyard reveals an intriguing minty cassis note in its camphor, black currant, and kirsch-scented bouquet. This compellingly fleshy, rich, full-throttle Grenache/Shiraz blend is both an intellectual and hedonistic turn-on. It should drink well for a decade.
