The proprietary red wine, the 2004 Reserve is a blend of 40% Petit Verdot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Despite the high percentage of Petit Verdot in the blend, it is an elegant, darkly-hued wine revealing blueberry, licorice, black currant, cedar, and spice box characteristics. Medium to full-bodied with a Bordeaux-like structure and moderately high tannin, it will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring, and should age well over the following 15 or more.Tel. Big, firm and intense, with rich, chewy currant, mineral, cedar and sage flavors that coat the palate. Yet there are elements to this massive youngster that provide a sense of elegance.
