The most impressive effort here is the 2001 Proprietary Red Reserve, an inky/ruby/purple-tinged blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Petit Verdot, and 11% Merlot. Exhibiting impressive potential, this firm, muscular, medium to full-bodied, broodingly backward 2001 will require time in the bottle. The high percentage of Petit Verdot also suggests the tannins may become more of an issue than they appear to be at present. Dense and rich, with notes of black fruits, smoke, earth, and new oak, it boasts an enticing texture, impressive richness, and a long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015.Tel. (707) 942-0930
