The 2014 Pommard 1er Cru Clos de la Commaraine has a clean and pure blackcurrant and bilberry-scented bouquet, with scents of iris and violet coming through with aeration. The palate is chewy on the entry. This is nicely structured and grippy in the mouth, a little compact at the moment, but it should flesh out by the time of bottling. It perhaps is just missing some length, but the balance is here.
