Shifted slightly more towards the Syrah side in 2010, the Authenticity is 76% Syrah and 24% Mourvedre that’s fermented in a combination of concrete, stainless steel and new French oak before aging in primarily French oak barrels and puncheons. Fantastic on the nose, with smoky black fruits, graphite, chocolate and complex game and leather nuances, this serious Syrah deliver a full-bodied, powerful, yet elegant mouth feel, brilliant concentration and a chalky, mineral-driven and tannic finish. While a big wine, this has uncommon polish, freshness and poise. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar and then drink through 2025+. Drink 2015-2025. – August 2013 (Jeb Dunnuck)

The 2010 Authenticity is made up of 76% Syrah and 24% Mourvèdre. It was made with 38% whole cluster and aged in 65% new French oak barrels and puncheons. It has a medium to deep ruby-purple color and gives up fresh scents of cassis, black cherry liqueur and blackberry jam with a savory current of dried tobacco, cured meats, olives, old leather and cigars. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a firm, very finely grained texture and great freshness on the long, savory finish. This is concealing its age well and has so much more life ahead. 492 cases were made.

Rich and gutsy, with dark berry, road tar, tobacco leaf and crushed rock flavors, this combines power with finesse, ending with a chewy aftertaste of smoke and creosote. Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2023. 492 cases made. – Web Only 2013 (James Laube)

The 2010 Authenticity represents a departure from previous years, in that this is the first vintage with stem inclusion, while all of the fruit comes from one specific parcel in Paderewski rich in limestone, both of which give the wine its aromatic lift and tension. Dark red raspberries, flowers, mint and spices all take shape in a Syrah with distinctly brighter aromas and flavors than those found in the darker Block B. – July 2013 (Antonio Galloni)
