The 1989 Gattinara Vigneto Castelle is the most supple and velvety-textured of Antoniolo's wines. It reveals a berry, jammy, black-cherry, and curranty bouquet, as well as opulent, ripe flavors, low acidity, layers of fruit, plenty of glycerin, and a spicy, alcoholic finish. It should drink well for 10-15 years.
