Here's a robust and opulent expression from a warm and generous vintage. The 2007 Barolo Riserva shows a dark and savory quality of fruit that is promptly followed by exotic spice, saddle leather, black pepper, cola and grilled herb. There is a note of ripeness that is evident in the bold fruit on display here. That ripeness comes forth as dried cherry skin. Otherwise, the wine has aged well and should continue on this steady trajectory. This Riserva will appeal to those who like more chewiness and richness in their Barolo.

Dense, smooth and polished, delivering flavors of black currant, cherry, underbrush, licorice and tobacco. Offers a brilliant mix of fruity and savory elements, with terrific balance and the structure to develop. Fine length.
