As difficult as it is to imagine, the 2006 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard is even better. A candidate for the “Pinot Noir of the Vintage,” it boasts a deep plum/ruby color as well as a gorgeous bouquet of roasted herbs, truffles, underbrush, forest floor, black cherries, black currants, raspberries, and sweet earth. The complex aromatics are followed by a prodigiously concentrated palate, silky tannins, broad, expansive, multilayered flavors, and a sumptuous finish. This decadently rich, complex Pinot Noir should drink nicely for 5-7 years. This superb Pinot Noir producer has turned out three compelling efforts from this fickle varietal. Tel.
