Serious Chardonnays are being produced by new winemaker, Graham Weerts, at Jess Jackson’s Alexander Valley estate, Stonestreet. From a slightly lower elevation vineyard site than the Broken Road, the medium to full-bodied 2005 Chardonnay Red Point reveals plenty of honeyed melons, crushed rocks, white currants, and white peaches. This fresh, lively Chardonnay is more similar to a Chablis than most California Chardonnays. It should drink well for 3-4 years.Tel. (800) 355-8008; Fax (707) 433-9469
