Even richer than the 1994, the full-bodied 1995 Chardonnay Wildwood Vineyard Unfiltered (14.4% alcohol) displays more obvious tropical fruits in its aroma (oranges and pineapples), rich, fleshy, ripe flavors, admirable depth, and a soft, opulent finish. There are four Chardonnay cuvees, but I did not taste the Sonoma Estate Chardonnay on my recent visit. If possible, winemaker David Noyes bottles the single-vineyard wines without any filtration. This is a winery that intentionally avoids as much processing and manipulation of the juice as possible. The single-vineyard wines see more oak (about 30%-35%), but the emphasis is placed on the vineyard character. Together with their ripe, rich fruit, these are fun and exciting wines.Tel.
