The 2010 Alaya is from Garnacha planted at 1,000 meters in Almansa and is raised in new French and American oak for 15 months. It has a lifted bouquet of blackberries, violets and vanilla. The palate is almost honeyed and viscous in texture, unashamedly hedonistic with a touch of eau de vie on the blockbuster finish. If you love hedonistic wines, then you will adore this wine, although if truth is told, I could not drink more than a glass.
