The 1997 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes reveals mouth-watering scents of candied almonds, apples, and pears. It is not as flashy a wine as the Folatieres, preferring to express itself in a more elegant manner. This medium-bodied, thick, velvety-textured, and focused wine is extremely well-balanced, deeply ripe, and impeccably crafted. Stones, white flowers, and sweet pears can be found in its delineated flavor profile and throughout its impressive finish. Projected maturity: 2000-2006+
