The basic cuvee, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape, is outstanding. Jammy black currant and cherry notes intermixed with hints of tapenade, herbs and plum sauce result in a succulent, juicy, full-throttle, full-bodied Chateauneuf du Pape that is seductive and silky. Drink it over the next decade.
This is a strong showing from the children of the Gonnet brothers. They have turned out deliciously fragrant, sexy, plump 2010s that will not be among the longest lasting of wines from Chateauneuf du Pape, but they have exceptional purity, impressive balance, and are all slightly different in style.
