From a year that Guffens characterizes as a good but not a great vintage, the 2000 Macon-Pierreclos Le Chavigne is fully mature, wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of drawn butter, pears, white flowers and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, supple and open-knit, it's charming and easygoing, with ripe acids and an expansive finish.
