The 2006 Petit Verdot Tempranillo is a 50/50 blend of the two grapes. The nose is full of aromas that transported me to a forest in autumn with wet dry leaves, mushrooms, truffles and rusty nails over a core of ripe cherries; in a way it reminded me of an old traditional Rioja. The palate is savory, and while the tannins are resolved by now, there is still some grip. It would do well with some simple meat dishes.
