Here's an entry-level wine that will leave you utterly satisfied. The 2013 Sicilia Nero d'Avola Vigna Lagnusa is aged in cement and botte to maintain aromatic freshness. Fruit is sourced from 30-year-old vines and Fabio Sireci uses a unique biotype of Nero d'Avola that was discovered here. The wine is soft and layered with dark fruit, dried cherry, pressed blackberry, pressed flowers, leather and crushed stone. Those delicate floral tones are of particular interest. The acidity is balanced and the tannins are soft. This is another home run from Feudo Montoni.
