The deepest gold-colored wine in the lineup, the 2013 Chardonnay Ashley's Vineyard spent eight months in 51% new French oak, with the balance in 1-, 2- and 3-year-old barrels. Rich, full throttle and medium to full-bodied, it offers sensational notes of ripe apple, buttered citrus, brioche and a touch of honeysuckle. This is a classic Chardonnay that has tons of character, excellent richness (which is lacking in too many Santa Barbara County Chardonnays) and a clean, classy finish. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years.
