The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape has a medium ruby color that belies the fruit-forward, sexy style of this wine. Soft, round, lush with oodles of black cherry, raspberry, pepper, and slightly herbal fruit, the wine is lush, silky-textured, and just a total hedonistic turn-on. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Another up-and-coming estate that is resurrected in quality, the Chouvet family seems serious about upgrading their wines as evidenced by recent vintages. No known American importer.
