The super-expensive 1996 Perez Pascuas Gran Reserva (only made in 1996 and 2001) is a selection of the finest barrels. Still exhibiting considerable amounts of new oak, it is a deep purple-colored, full-bodied red with a sweet mid-section and a long, concentrated, heady finish with plenty of creme de cassis, licorice, smoke, and new barrique smells. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 10-12.Importer: a Christopher Cannan Selection, various American importers including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
