Capafons-Osso’s 2007 Sirsell from a relatively challenging vintage (no upper-tier wines were produced) was sourced from organically farmed vineyards and aged for 17 months in French oak. It is a blend of 40% Garnacha, 29% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Syrah and Carinena. Aromas of earthy minerality and brooding black fruit lead to a compact wine in need of greater volume. However, it possesses ample savory black cherry fruit and moderate length. It is unlikely to evolve significantly and should be consumed over the next several years.
