The 2016 Ladoix 1er Cru la Corvées is slightly deeper in color than the Joyeuses. It has a very well-defined nose with blackcurrant and bilberry fruit, violet scents emerging with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a crisp line of acidity and a vein of blood orange and marmalade on the finish. This is an outstanding Ladoix premier cru, one of the best that I have ever tasted, in fact.
