The 2005 Mas de Masos is the estate’s top wine, a blend of 55% Garnacha, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carinena, and 5% Syrah. It was aged for 14 months in new French oak. It surrenders an expressive nose of liquid minerality, sandalwood, espresso, licorice, black cherry, and black raspberry. This leads to a full-bodied wine with layers of spicy fruit, outstanding volume, and impeccable balance. Give it 4-5 years to fully blossom and drink it from 2015 to 2025.
