The estate’s 2008 Sasso Bucato is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot that spent 16 months in French oak. Interestingly, it shows more red fruit and floral notes than the Sangiovese-based Barbicone. Licorice, sweet spices, crushed flowers and berries wrap around the delicate finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
