The 2001 Sassobucato is the house’s Bordeaux blend, very dark in color, sweet, peppery, and earthy in aroma with very well integrated oak spices, solid and powerful on the palate. The presence of Petit Verdot gives some additional grip and authority to the finish, but the muscularity of the wine will probably require some additional bottle time. Drink: 2006-2018.
