This vintage represents the last wine made exclusively with fruit from old vines planted by Antonio Cerri (the estate's visionary founder). The 2001 Boca was born in a classic year, with a trouble-free growing season that concluded with harvest in mid-October. This wine opens quickly in the glass, delivering a succession of savory and evolved aromas that recall spice, dried blackberry, cured meat or smoked ham. In the mouth, the wine is delicate and ethereal. If you have a bottle, I suggest a cautious and light decanting because this wine is very fragile.
