The 1999 Boca is the first vintage made by Christoph Künzli from start to finish. Fruit was sourced from old vines, but the season was characterized by long periods of rain, especially in September during that crucial run up to harvest. The grapes came off the vines on October 12th. Christoph remembers that the fruit was not beautiful and yields were high. Today, this wine presents a slightly green bouquet with vegetal or underripe interludes. Licorice and spice cede to tobacco, cured leather and potting soil.
