Bottled unfined and unfiltered from a blend of 85% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the wine displays very little, if any, oak. It offers up loads of cedary black currant and kirsch-like fruit, with hints of licorice and spice box. There is even a fruitcake sort of character to this delicious, supple, mid-weight wine. It should be drunk over the next several years.
A consistent winner year in and year out, this inexpensive generic Bordeaux is made under the consultancy of Michel Rolland.
