It's hard to imagine a counterculture estate like Foradori dabbling with a banal and rather uninteresting grape like Pinot Grigio. But they do; and they do so in style. The 2015 Pinot Grigio Fuoripista ("off-roader") opens to a pink-copperish color and thick consistency. That's why I have listed this as a Rosé and not as white wine. This expression has obviously spent extended time on the skins. In fact, the bouquet is rather abrupt and direct as you could expect of a white wine that has macerated on the skins for an extended period. The finish offers metallic tones with stone fruit and candied tangerine skin.
