The 2008 Pinot Grigio Unterebner is a gorgeously pure, crystalline white blessed with expressive aromatics and a generous core of fruit. The Unterebner is the winery’s single-vineyard Pinot Grigio and is aged in cask. A little less than half of the juice undergoes malolactic fermentation, which helps give the wine its volume. This is an awesome, exceptionally pure Pinot Grigio. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. This is a wonderful set of new releases from Tramin, one of Alto Adige’s oldest and most successful cooperatives.
