The 2005 Pinot Noir “Calkins Lane Vineyard” offers darker fruit but the same high-toned personality. There is elevated acidity, a firm finish, but only a narrow band of ripe fruit, leaving this wine’s balance in question. I would opt for drinking it near-term.
Adelsheim Vineyard was founded in 1971 and the winery’s first vintage was in 1978. David Adelsheim remains in charge as the winery has expanded into a new winery and planted more vineyard in the Chehalem Mountain AVA. In addition to Pinot Noir, the winery produces a bevy of quality white wines worthy of consumer attention.
