This state of the art winery located in Gaiole has turned out a beautiful set of wines. Capannelle’s 2001 Chianti Classico Riserva is a gorgeous effort of notable depth and precision. It exhibits expressive aromatics and very attractive sweet dark red fruit intermingled with tobacco, mineral, licorice, tar and toasted oak nuances, showing terrific balance in a style that is at once delicate and powerful. This blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Colorino and Canaiolo, spent two and a half years in small French oak barrels followed by 14 months in bottle.
