Aged all in cement tanks and a traditionally-styled effort, the 2012 Gigondas possesses loads of wild herbs, loamy soil, leather, truffle and peppery nuances in its medium to full-bodied, balanced and overall fresh and elegant profile. Showing fine tannin on the finish, with plenty of fruit, it should evolve gracefully for 7-8 years.
Covering a scant 2.5 acres in Gigondas (although they have over 200 acres in total), this estate has been run by Jean-Claude and Philippe Lambert since 1998. While they release a single Gigondas that-s a blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah, they also produce a Cotes du Rhone Villages Sablet and Plan de Dieu.
