The outstanding, multidimensional, layered 2009 Gigondas possesses deep black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with notes of garrigue, pepper and damp earth. Rich and medium to full-bodied with some tannins still to be resolved, it will benefit from several years of cellaring. It should keep for 12-15 years. These are two outstanding efforts from Domaine des Pasquiers. Owned by Jean-Claude Lambert, their vineyard is one of the largest in the region as they also make a number of wines outside Gigondas. The cellars are in the quaint, picturesque village of Sablet, which is just north of Gigondas. No known American importer.
