A great effort from Jaboulet that is now in decline, the 1962's color reveals a pronounced orange/rust, with some bottles resembling tea. This was an exceptional wine for much of its life, but it is now a mere shadow of its former self. It possesses a leafy, herb, earthy, musty nose, an absence of sweet fruit (once a hallmark of the 1962 vintage), and an alcoholic, tannic finish. Drink it up. Last tasted 8/96.
