Let me say immediately that this is a controversial style of wine. But if one approaches this full-bodied, intense red wine as if it were an Amarone from Italy, then its aromatic and flavor profile will be easier to understand. The big, rich, pruny nose and thick, unctuous flavors suggest it is made from late-harvested grapes. I would opt for serving it at the end of the meal with cheese. The price makes this wine a steal.
